RAPTORS?!?!?!
Just when I thought the future was bright for the Raps, they go and put a string of wins together. It's as if they can't even lose properly. Looking at their recent history of poor management, poor coaching, and crappy players. I thought for sure this would be the year we get a top pick. They sure as hell won't make the playoffs, but you would think that they would at least have the dignity to finish last. Well now that you think about it knowing the luck of the raps', even finishing dead last, the lottery would still be lost. Maybe they realized this and decided playing.
just a thought.
just a thought.
The thing i like about the Raptors is the fact that they hit rock bottom early in the season (i mean, at one point things couldn't get any worse).
Still their home record is a paltry 3-13 for a team that has always played relativley well in the ACC u just knew there was a turnaround on the way. The surprise is their 7-10 road record (which is better than ten other teams in the conference). Their last loss was in Detroit(no surprise there), they have now won four in a row and are 6-4 in their last ten. A big test now comes in to twon where they will host the Rockets and the Nets and could be leaving the Knicks to eat their dust.
They have yet to trade away some talent (and have lots of moveable parts available) but what excites me the most is not their overall youth and potential but most of all is the fact that they play in the wide open Eastern Conference where only 6 teams are playing over .500-anything is possible. Don't get me wrong, i am not saying they are destined for the playoffs but at least they are "learning to win" without Carter, and to a lesser extent Jalen Rose or the other lingering ghosts of the Raptor's past.

But still a first round pick is far better then a first round exit from the playoffs. Every wrote them off, and the acc still sells out. So i htink they should pack their bags and go for a top 3 pick.

i would have to disagree it is far more important for a young team to start winning as soon as possible lest risking the possibility of losing the players (Bosh)to free agency as they did with T-Mac and Masrshall would had no incentive to stay in TO.
